Yeah Spiffy... it's amazing what the dealers charge even with the 15% off PCA membership discount. Wonder how much it would cost to have them install it?

In the Returnless Fuel systems, the fuel filter is located inside the fuel tank and does not need to be changed.

I suspect the only difference between the two is the packaging(box with Porsche printed on it) in this case. So this may be that extreme case where the packaging has an uplift of $85 and the actual part is $20. I stocked up with several Mann filters when pelican had their holiday special. You can also purchase that same set of Bosch plugs from suncoastparts for $99 or pelicanparts for $63.
Thanks for the info and help there USMC

Just fyi, Amazon has a ton of these parts as well, usually with Free shipping. Just want to offer a variety of buying options when you have a need. I got my plugs there as well for about $8 a plug - so $50 for the exact same Bosch plugs. I get my oil filters there (Mann) for $13 or less.

I was told that spark plugs are updated about every year and a half. Dealer plugs have no numbers on them ? still way over priced tho.

Suncoastparts.com is a p-dealer that specializes in high volume parts via the internet. So if in doubt I go to them for the best dealer type pricing. BTW, I prefer to apply my dollars to the local dealer to build a rapport with the parts guys JIC where I can but in most cases they are just way overpriced and will admit that they can't match/even come close to what Suncoastparts will extend. So I've resorted to buying small inexpensive parts(bolts and gaskets) and liquids(coolant). I've tried.

Just did the Air filter replacement on my 2006.

Interesting to note my 06 had a plastic bracket just like the 997.2 aluminum bracket
And the Mann filter even came with a little black and white instruction booklet for the Porsche

Now to tackle the next DIY

My 05 997.1 had the aluminum bracket with T30 screws. Thank you for the excellent write-up!

Edit: I'm convinced the aluminum bracket was added at a later date.

My 997 is a ROW 2007 and it has the aluminum bracket! Shouldn't my car be a 997.1 hence without that bracket!
