Default 997 wide body wheels... Forged options...

Hey guys, I'm a brand new Porsche owner. I just bought an '08 C4s in macadamia with Turbo wheels. I'd like to put black wheels on the car and love the HRE P40s, but would like to do something a bit more affordable without going with a heavy cast wheel.

Are there any options out there that are light and well made in the $3000 range?

Thanks so much!

I may be willing to see my Vorsteiner v106 wheels for less than your price point. PM me for details including contact info. 19x 9; 19x12 gunmetal grey matte forged wide body fitment. On my C4S.

I bought a used set of black HRE P40's for $3,750 with good PS2's mounted. Wheels were in like new condition. Another identical set was available at that time for $3,000. No tires on that set. Check the classifieds both here and on 6 speed. Maybe ebay too. If that's the wheel you really want, any kind of compromise is probably something you will regret.

Look at OZ HLT wheels on Tire Rack. They are light, very well built. I and many use them at the track.

welcome and congrats!
I agree: don't compromise on wheel choice......the HRE's are worth every penny!!
Maybe rake the plunge on a set.......you'll not be disappointed!

I went with the P47sc for my TT.....with a brush tint clear finish

+1 for OZ wheels. I have experience from both the Ultraleggera and Superforgiata wheels on the road and the track. True quality and great value for money. The Superforgiata wheels are more expensive than the Ultraleggera but extremely light. Similar weight as BBS FI, but for 2/3 the price.

Avant Garde makes a forged F310 that is a mesh design at about $1k a piece.

Forgeline are pretty cheap, otherwise go with OZ or if you can find some used ones in the classifieds.

Just a plug here for Jeff at Turn 3. Jeff is great to do business with...great dealer for the brands he sells, knows his product and I know from personal experience he stands behind what he sells.

I've seen some nice Champion RG5 wheels, in black, for sale in the classifieds. They are single piece forged aluminum wheels, and are very light and strong. IMO they are one of the best looking wheels on our cars.

Tirerack has the breyton forged wheel on sale. Does the BBS CHR come in wide fitment? They are flow formed cast but may be too heavy for your needs.

I don't think you can go wrong with BBS Ch-R's in black, I got a great price from Howey Industries and they drop shipped from BBS. They are light enough for me, easy to handle for an old guy anyway!

I would see if champion, volks racing, and bbs has anything in your price range. I love those 3 brnads of wheels. If only I could do the 5 lug conversion...... I have to keep my spending down to almost zero now that the real estate market here is flat out scary right now.

I have BBS-CHR in a wide fitment for my C4S and they work great. No issues and are much lighter than factory Turbo OEM wheels that came with the car so that's a plus there also.
