I am looking at and tempted to purchase a 2010 Targa 4s, like the car like the fact that its an all around 911. The car has 8000 miles total and is a one owner car. Dealer wants 79k, is this a decent deal?

I don't think 80k is outrageous but it really depends on the options, etc.
I do love the targa.
Take care,

My opinion, (I have a 2010 C4S that I have offered for sale, one owner, 3000 miles), is that you should end up paying closer to 70 than to 80. A "fair" deal is probably 75, a good deal would be closer to 70.

If you love the car, have a local P shop PPI/DME it for you and go from there. I would say low 70s is a good target.
Best of luck!

Those are definately winter treads, it better come with new Summer tires. I only looked at CPO, as a CPO it would be a very good deal if all checked out in the mid-high 70's. I almost went with a Targa 4S, but the dealer insisted it was worth more because it was rare.
Great options, get a DME report and PPI, that will guide you. Also like I said above Summer tires should be included, the fact it has Winter tires tells you one thing, the prior owner drove it more than likely in Snow and over the winter for sure.

Look at the Carfax, the Winter tires were put on every Winter, the good news is it is NJ and they do not get that much snow, up to you if that is a negative.

the car looks great! and it's a Targa! I'd walk in with the amount of cash in hand you think you could get it for......and offer it in cash, ee if that gets any attention

Targas a rare so there is also the what's it worth to you factor. Would you kick yourself for losing it over a couple if grand? Find that price and try and negotiat down drone there. In the end it's all about what it's worth o you.

That is sound advise. If it is the car you really want, options, color, condition, etc, do not let a couple thousand get in the way. Negotiate your best deal and make an offer and then let it sit with them for a day. If they have not come back with a better price, just pull the trigger and never look back.
BTW, you can possibly recoup some of that expense if you consider a Fidelity Platinum warranty as they have room to negotiate on those. Not only provide protection but is a terrific selling feature should you need to sell the car at some point.

This may be the best advice you can get. A good deal on a car is a state of mind. If you're happy with it, move on. If you're the type that is looking for others to agree that you got a great deal, then don't buy anything, because there's ALWAYS a better price.
Have fun with it!

Sounds like a decent price to me actually. It's an asking price, so it can be discounted a few thou and that would be a fair retail price. Almost. If it needs tires, then knock off a couple thou more. Go price a set of new tires for that puppy before you buy it.
