Default Sports Adaptive Seat Frame Rock - Help

Guys,

My driver side sport adaptive seat has a couple of mm play in it, it appears to rock from the base when you put a load on the backrest i.e. put foot on clutch. It looks like it might be in the runner somewhere and it clicks everytime it rocks. Any clues on how to fix it (and don't say buckets!).

Check the bolts that hold the runner to the floor pan to make sure they are tight.

Yep, done that, they are tight. I think it is rocking within the frame somewhere.

Sounds like a cracked seat frame rail or within the seat frame. If it is still under warranty take it in.

Default Known issue

My 2009 does it and it now out of warranty. Dealer will replace under warranty.

Only solution is replacement of the rails - apparently some sort of wear issue. I have not found anyone who has a repair method.

Post back what you do.

Peace

An update on this. I took the car in to the dealer and they pulled the seat out. They tightened something within the frame and it appears to have just about fixed the issue. When I speak to the technician next I will ask him what he tightened.

The dealer told me that they tightened something, but were vague as to what it was and didn't fill me with confidence that they had fixed it. I must say, it was 50% better though.

Sorry I can't be more specific.

It seems to me that you may need to peen the rails a bit to reduce the play. I have always suspected that that is what Porsche does with these things.
