Default 1235 miles over the weekend @ 27 mpg!

I knew that I was buying a high performance sports car when I bought a 2010 911S, didn't realize that I was getting an economy car as well!

How was the drive?

I was really surprised how comfortable my 997 was on a 980 mile trip from Maine.

That's impressive... I get about 26 MPH on the fwy until the red mist takes over. But even then she's still the most "green" car out of our other 4 trucks and SUV's. So for those long distant hauls I drive the 911 to minimize our carbon foot print... of course.

I average about 21mpg with my 911 as a daily driver (about 11 miles, 2/3 of which is highway driving).

I've taken numerous long trips in my 06 C2S cab, but had a hard time getting anything over 25 MPG even on the flattest and straightest stretches, and over a 1200 mile trip (LA-Vancouver) averaged closer to 22 or 23 MPG. But I think my typical avg speed was closer to 70 or more. Same with my 07 Targa4S on long trips.

I'm amazed when I see people getting high 20's, although I guess the 09+ DFI cars are more fuel efficient.

I don't get too excite with the 997 mileage. My V8 bmw 550 gets 24 to 25 mpg highway @ 80 ish mph.

But compared to the likes of the M3, the 997 is much better. Wonder how well the 997 would fare with 18's.

I averaged 18.8 mpg in the first 400 miles of owning the car. It's been climbing up from 13.8 mpg for the first 100mi or so.

I did about 1000 miles over the weekend, definitely pushed about since it was my first weekend with the car ever. But managed to average out 25.2 MPG by the end of the trip. On the window sticker Porsche claims drivers will get 20-30 MPG on highway.

I'm sure it's the 7th gear overdrive in the PDK. Even at 80-85, the RPM are very low.

Just got back from a 1200 mile round trip from San Diego, Ca to Santa Rosa, Ca and back. Mostly freeway driving, a little traffic, and average speed 75-80 MPH (not off the computer).
Fuel economy was 22.4 mpg.
Car is 2007 C2S with tiptronic.
Comfort level? Not as good as some, however better than I expected for this type of car.
Nothing beats long distance travel in the wife's 2013 Cayenne diesel. Truely comfortable and FAST. And 29 mpg at 80 MPH.

I find it very comfortable as a daily driver and on long trips. The only negative is that it is a little bit of a pain getting in and out of.
