Default 997 Best Rear Brake Ducts

Can anyone let me know what brake ducts they are using on their 997s? i ordered the gt3 front they were around $20 for the pair

i was unable to find a gt3 rear brake duct part # did they not come with them?

i found 997 turbo ones -

http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/ES25...881/ES2581880/

i know the ultimiate option is the cup ducts.. but thats just overkill for me and very expensive.

as a point of reference i just switched to endless rf650 fluid and ss brake lines.. going to flush and install the lines with weekend

Thanks, mike

Interesting find. Any idea how much disassembly of the rear is necessary to install those?

I'd say none. They snap over exisiting structure. But, removing the wheels may give you more room to work with.

It looked that way from the photos of the snap-type retainers, but I didn't want to assume they just installed right up. Thanks!

Got the turbo ones, remove rear wheels, then easy to fit!

I also fit Turbo rear brake ducts to my 997S. Cheap as chips and a simple install once you figure out where they actually go.

NOTE: if you have 11.5" rims on a narrow body car you will need to trim the duct a bit as it ever so slightly rubs the rear wheel. If you have a wide body, narrower rear wheel, or spacers it likely wouldn't be an issue. Trimming was easy enough to do but something I didn't realize until I had refit the wheel and saw how close the tolerance was.

Just call in advance and have your local dealer order the parts for you. I can't imagine them being cheaper online, in fact most places I've seen advertise them for MORE than the dealer.

GT3 front ducts: 997-341-483-92 & 997-341-484-92 ($4.97/each)

997 Turbo rear ducts: 997-331-487-02 & 997-331-488-02 ($21.15/each)

$50 and an hour of your time to install all four. Makes for an easy and satisfying DIY.

I installed the GT3 ducts on the front and the GT2 ducts on the rear, Suncoast sells them.
