A few months back I bought a 2005 c2s and I'm still discovering some of the features of this car. The car does not appear to have tpms though, and it would be nice to be notified if tire pressures are a little low. The car has aftermarket 20" wheels so the sidewall is very thin.
Is adding tpms simply a matter of getting the sensors for my wheels, or does the car require a specific option to have the tpms receiver?

As you probably figured out, you can do anything...for a price. But adding OEM TPMS after the fact not only requires sensors in the wheels (easy) but receiver/transmitters in each wheel well plus the hook up to the OBC for display purposes (more difficult and pricey).
I wouldn't go through a whole lot of time or money trying to add TPMS if you don't already have it. The owner's manual even states that the TPMS readings are for "informational purposes only". I've found my TPMS reads +\- 2.5 lbs of a digital hand held pressure gauge. Guess which reading I go by?
I purchased the tpms system from cartronics and had it installed at fast forward wheels. It's plug and play and the sensors were a perfect fit to te Carreras sport wheels. It provides both pressure and temperature readings and the unit was under $200.
