Default Key Issues

My key stopped working so I took it to the dealership to get the battery replaced, they did this still doesn't work. I then tested my spare key which also no longer works. Both keys will unlock the doors every so often, but it's completely sporadic. I'm taking the car in next weekend, what do you guys think this is?

Could be the key itself or the receiver. I replaced both my keys with the new upgraded ones from Suncoast. They feel much more substantial and solid than the old ones, and work perfectly. Something to think about.

I replaced one of them with the 997.2 key about 6 months ago, I don't know why both keys aren't working all of a sudden.

If you are having issues with both keys, then it is probably not the key but the receving unit.

+1, highly unlikely that it has anything to do with the keyfobs if both are failing at the same time. You've covered the battery, only thing left is the receiver.

If you have CPO, it should be covered.

Long shot, but i changed both my batteries in each key and both stopped working. I had inadvertently bent the gold prong. This slight bend caused it not to mate with the the other contact. Just to clarify the prongs which hold the battery were fine and were not bent. The gold contact to touch the other side of the key was the culprit.
