A Durametric tool will also produce a Rev limit report. They start at ~$275. It may be worth it to get one if you plan on doing your own oil changes and other DIY service items as the tool will allow you to reset the car's service date.

I don't think all 6 cylinders can fire at the same time.

Thanx for clarification. When I had this discussion with them, I was working and didn't have time for deep discussion. What I was looking for was really simple: "was this car taken care of or abused?".

I did purchase the car and am pretty impressed at how well it was treated. It was what I wanted.

Thanx again,

Bruce in Philly

Don't forget it's a 4 stroke engine - see post 8 in this thread. It's been covered previously in too many posts to link. If all 6 cylinders fired every revolution (as suggested by one) you'd probably have a big explosion.

Yes, you are correct. 4 strokes require two rotations of the crank shaft for the whole 4-stroke cycle . And each power stroke begins 120 degrees after the previous one starts, so 3 strikes per revolution. My bad.

What's the total cost of the PPI and what does it include? You're not having the selling dealer do the PPI are you?
