I searched, but didn't find anything specifically pertaining to this topic.
Is there a (cheap and simple - hopefully) way to connect an iPhone 5 to a 997.1 (non-PCM)? I can live without the ability to charge the battery, but I use the phone as my primary iPod, so I'd like to be able to have line-out audio quality.
Thanks.

Anyone?
I called Suncoast and all they have is the ~$350 kit that WON'T fit the 5's new pin setup.

I think the short answer to your question is NO, unfortunately. There certainly are ways to connect an iPhone or iPod to the 997, but they're neither cheap or easy.

A little ridiculous; the OEM "solution" from Suncoast at nearly $400 including an adapter is outrageous.

I've gotten used to enjoying the charms of my 993's 6 disc changer and cassette deck (!), but I had assumed that there might be some in car entertainment enhancements in the intervening decade. The car in question is a GT3, so I guess I'll continue enjoying road noise and flat-6 music.

Bluetooth options seem the only options that are cost effective. You just don't get the quality

On your 997.1, what year is it? Can you shoot an image of the head unit and report back, or email to me?
