Missing bumper screw - can I Macgyver it?
So I received and installed my new Fister Muffler yesterday. Sounds great by the way. I have no mechanical skills and did it in about 1.5 hours - very easy, took my time.
Anyway, the first step is to "Remove the small bracket that connects the bumper to the frame, right behind the rear wheel". A bolt attaches to the frame and a screw to the bumper. On one side the screw was missing, so the rod was only connected to the frame. The screw is black and has a very wide head almost the size of a nickel. A star pattern bit is required to remove it.
Any reason I should replace it with the original or can I Macqyver it with a wide washer/screw combo? It I was going to Macqyver it seems like that would be the least harmful place on the car to do so but maybe I'm missing something.
