Default TX hill country tour this weekend. Wow.

Took my wife for the first of what I hope to be many tours through the country roads of Texas. Found some great runs. Houston to Bastrop to San Marcos to Blanco to Fredericksburg. Full afternoon of winery tours and then reversed the trip back. The wife even had fun after she had to swallow her heart again after the first set of curves! Man, I love this car. It's going to take a crew to get his thing clean again, though.
What a great tour and would love to hear any suggested routes for the next run!

If you like the driving around the Texas Hill Country then sign up for Boxtoberfest in September.

Thanks fiatcoupe. Is that a PCA event? If so, I'll look it up online.

You might find it advertised on the PCA web site. However this is the official web page: http://www.boxstoberfest.com/

I went in 2011 and it was great fun. Spirited driving in a large convoy over some fabulous roads. I regret missing the 2012 event but plan on going this year.

I'd like to make it to Boxtoberfest at some point - it seems there is always a conflict in my schedule. It seems to grow in size every year, and Fredericksburg is a great place to visit..

Thanks FiatCoupe. Hangar Hotel looks rather cool. Nice event to have on the personal calendar.

Love the Hill Country. I recently did a run with the Longhorn PCA and it was a lot of fun. The winery tours, especially Fredericksburg are quite nice - they're some really nice bed & breakfast inn's there too. I'm not from Texas originally and lived in SA for 3 years and never knew it was such a big wine producing state!

Some of the best driving roads are the Twisted Sisters. Don't quote me, but I believe they are 335, 336 and 337.
