It looks ok. Sticker is off and looks different then the ones online. Blue center vs black. Also it looks like someone cut out some of the base.

The bottom looks cut out and I don't see the other plastic coupling.

He can re-use his old coupling. Odd that they cut on the plastic.

That is one of two different OEM Porsche short shift kits. The other comes complete with it's own assembly. This one is the first version offered by Porsche which is identical and actually made by B&N. More of a kit than a replacement part. When Porsche installs it they pop out the original shifter linkage and shaft and pop in that dark billet steel piece/shaft. The part that is cut away is doesn't change the performance of the shifter and is part or the stock shifter assembly so the part number scratched off means nothing. If you want you can just use your original stock assembly and swap out the short shift adapter. Maybe the missing coupling is not missing and the original from the car is used there?

I wouldn't put that in my car.
The frame is cracked near one of the mounting holes where it was "modified" or hacked up. Some of the support structure is missing. I can't fathom why it was cut out.
A cable attachment is missing that connects the bottom of the lever with the cable. it looks just like the other in the pic. Basically there should be two of them. You have only one. You could use one from your car and move it I suppose. But again you also use your "tower" or bracket as well.
I've seen factory SSK (green) and it's not B&M (blue)
Whatever you decide to do to make it work, I would not use the frame it came with.

Yeah good point.

I would test to see if there is flex in the shifter box. The 4 bolts are sizeable suggesting that box must be secure. I don't like the cut so close to the bolt location.

Not sure if he needs new plastic clips to reinstall. I had to cut these out. Pic shows a one sided razor I used to remove. All the white inner tabs were sliced off.

This not the Porsche SSK - the Porsche part doesn't require any cutting. I'd write this off and start over - buy the Porsche part from Suncoast or the less expensive B&N part from Eric at Bumperplugs.

No. OEM SS retrofit kit "v1" is what he bought. See link below:
http://www.renntech.org/forums/topic...hift-pictures/

The "v2" 997.424.983.00 is light blue plastic. The green you are confused about is the green install tool that gets removed after the parts are installed.

Here is what it looks like when that green tool or guide is removed:

I wasted a lot of time figuring this out a while ago and I even surprised a cocky dude at the dealership because even he wasn't aware there are two different porsche SSK's.

Also, deep blue machined B&M that is virtually identical to the OEM adapter:

I just found the pictures on the net they are not mine.

Agreed.... A Porsche is no place to go cheap and take a chance.

B&M SS is half the price of OEM and people swear up n down it just as good or better than OEM. I'd say that's 'cheap"

True, and that is what I have. But there is a big difference between the b&m route vs. trying to salvage parts from a used kit unless you know exactly what is what.
