I was wondering what this smell was. Mine is an 06 C2S with less than 13k miles. It smells pretty strong when I've put it in the garage after a hard drive. Good to know.

Is this the burning smell you smell when you get home and turn the engine off and get out of the car?

Do they still ship the cars completely coated in cosmoline...exterior and all??

When I was kid I worked as a porter and detailer at a Porsche Audi dealer in KC, like 85-86. EVERY P & A came shipped coated bumper to bumper in that stuff. We used this solvent by the 55 gal drum full to clean these cars. We used so much of I'm surprised that land is not a super fund site! But man...it smells good. :-) Like a wet ditto copy!

That's what I thought for the rear tires since that area near the exhaust gets pretty hot after a good drive. Guess not, time to embrace and the love the smell
