Like SteveFromMN the rubbing sound from my GTS is more noticeable in the cold. Did the same on my 09 C2S.

hm thanks! i bought the car over the summer....at around 18k miles...has about 25k miles now...i didnt notice it when i first had it but now i do but....perhaps its because as you guys all stated its more noticeable during the cold. strange

+1 same issues with my Cayman S and now my Carrera S I know there is a name for this but can not recall.

You may want to also check the bump stops on the front struts! They tend to wear down and deteriate.

Just saw the below post - sounds like what I've encountered with my 2012 997.2 C2S. Only happens thus far when first pulling car into driveway when cold out and first starting car - backing out of driveway and turning wheel all the way hard right when going in reverse feels like front tires are driving over large broken jagged rocks. Once the car is warmed up and I try again - after a spin around neighborhood and back in driveway - can back out with wheel hard to the right and completely smooth, no problem at all. So perhaps issue is cold tires slipping on pavement when backing out with steering wheel turned hard to the right? Your thoughts on this would be much appreciated. Thanks....

Me too...happens every time I back out of my garage...tight turn to the right going backwards. 2007 S.

I put all my money on cold tires. The harder the rubber specifically the sidewall the result is skipping/jumping especially at full turn and going backwards or even accelerating while turning. I had this same problem on my Caddy CTS with summer performance tires. Changed them to a softer tire and the problem went completely away.

When i first heard it on my 09' CSC, I almost passed out! I believe it's normal. Pooorshaaa baby.... I love this forum, I make a V-soda, put my feet up, and mill this site for hours...
