Just picked up a 2013 Ford Edge Sport as my daily driver especially since I intend on modding the 997 with the TPC single turbo conversion Q1 2013. I looked at the typical German brands which I love, but a friend suggested I give this a try. I hesitated because I haven't owned a domestic for decades, but I fell in love with the fit, finish, all the bells and whistles with navigation, Sony sound system, Microsoft Synch, paddle shifters, full leather, aero package (front spoiler, side skirts, diffuser), dual exhaust with a mean exhaust note, and 305 HP. Love it, especially since I save a boat load over what I was considering.

Truly they are! I almost bought the VW and considered its more expensive cousin the Audi, but one ride in this and I thought "wait - really, Ford?" I drove it for a little while with the sales guy, thought about it and asked myself "What's not to like!?!" Excellent package, and I mean every option available on the German or Asian counterparts, yet cheaper and arguably better looking. I'm hooked. Keeping the P-car and modding the heck out of it, but many decades later back full circle to this Ford. By the way, my eyes were POPPING out at a Leguna Seca Mustang - OMG!!! What a beast! I won't give up the P-car but man that sure as heck was tempting. I thought "if" one of the first things I'd do is GAP DELETE, but the rest was "***** TO THE WALL MEAN"!

Back in the day (2001 996 C2, 2005 Monster 620D, ~360 hp):

And the current stable (2009 997 C2S, 2008 1098, ~550 hp):

The Monster and the 996 were about the same speed. The 997S is much faster. The 1098 is stupid fast.
