I'm kinda fond of color match, so can I get a ruby red tooth? Would work well with a diamond!

Once you get the leather console don't forget to get the leather visors...after all, it's a cabriolet and people notice things like that!

Awesome Stef......do you think that tooth would clash too much with the BT and Natural brown....maybe a blue turquoise tooth...gotta think!

Craig....I know they have great pricing but you need to send your center console to them and have them wrap it and then get it back and install it.

I'd have to remove it....be without it for some time....and then install it. I'm not handy at all so I'd have to have someone else do the removal and installation and then be without the center console for some length of time....it's not my ideal situation but the price certainly makes it somewhat appealing.

Thanks so much for the info. I wish they would cover one for me and then let me send them my old one when I remove it.

Tom,

Removing the center console is simple. I removed the console on my previous '04 996 and on my currnet '10 997.2, both times to install a short shift kit. 45 minutes tops to remove it, if you take your time. The B&M Racing web site has a good set of instructions with good pics.

I also thought about going with Classic 9 Leather shop.
Their prices are a good bang for the buck.

But you can't beat the factory OEM leather console for its quality and leather match.
I ended up going that route myself.

Thanks Tim,

That makes me feel better about the job no matter who I go with! I'll check it out!

I'm leaning that way myself!

Do you have any more pictures of your interior? When did you do it and were you happy with the result....it looks gorgeous to me!

Thanks for the "gorgeous" comment, I'm very happy with it! (Sorry, that was my one pic.)
My original rear console was actually still in very nice condition, but I always felt "full leather" should have included this part.
Like Dan has often said, it now looks and feels as it should have been delivered from Porsche to begin with.

Until this mod, my car had been completely stock for 6 years and I've grown quite attached to my 997. So I figured it was time to give it a little refresh to ensure the enjoyment continues for many more years. I ordered it from Suncoast and it took Porsche AG Germany around 2.5 months to build and deliver it. Had it installed by my local dealer a few months ago. It's very expensive to add after the fact. But it was worth it to me and far cheaper than buying a 991.

The only downside is that I'm now constantly thinking about other upgrades for the car. I can totally relate to your "every time you say something I'm out a grand" remark.

Tom, it's definitely not a hard job. I just did it obviously. Give me a shout if you want a hand, north Jersey isn't all that far from Westchester.

I'm strongly considering swapping out my silver console for leather and based on the pictures above I'd say OEM is the only way to do it properly. I'd love to save $2k but I can see the difference.
