Cool

wc11,
The birthday on my COA shows January, but the actual build date stamped sticker on the door jamb shows December. Look at the DOT sticker on your door jamb and see if it has the date stamped there (mine is actually stamped with little holes in the sticker). Compare that date with your COA. I think the COA is a PCNA item and they might look at the date of delivery to them (at Savannah or Charleston), or perhaps some other administratrive date (like the date it was officially assigned to be transferred to them from Germany).

I think that your build date is December. But compare the two numbers and you may see a difference that clears (or further clouds) your question.

Cool

Also, the frunk sticker lasted through the 996 production and died somewhere during the 997 production.

Default M96 vs M97 Different Coils?

The other day a Porsche mechanic informed me that the M96 engine only has one solenoid (VarioCam) and the M97 has two solenoids (VarioCam & Ram)....can anyone confirm this is accurate?

I am trying to source an M96 engine to replace my M97 and want to make sure nothing is too drastically different. I know the IMS on some IMS' are smaller and can be replaced, this is what is desirable to me.

Thanks!

Both versions have this same design weakness!!

I don't have a sticker on my 2005 997.1. Where do I look on engine?

If no sticker under the drunk, then under the engine on the right/passenger side tucked in a crevice.
