Default Headers/cats for 997.2

Has anyone replaced the stock headers on a .2 car? Changed my oil yesterday and noticed both headers have been hit. I backed out of a fairly steep driveway a couple of weeks ago and I think that's what did it. They're not cracked but pushed in enough where it has to restrict the flow somewhat. Didn't realize it but the bottom of the header marks the lowest point of any engine component as far as I can tell. Almost a full inch below the oil pan. I don't see a lot of options for replacement. Stock is $3,000 for a set of two, Fabspeed is over $2K and GMS has a 200 cell set for $1,075.

Never heard of "Green motorsport".

Hey, sorry to hear about your header issue. I have them ready to go for that car and they include all the hardware and gaskets with them. PM me if you have any questions and for special member pricing, I will make you a nice deal on them for you.
Thanks

I have Green Motorsport. Very happy with them. Pictures are of my car. Easy to fit & good performance mod with a tune.

Not a perfect solution, but a quick cheap one, Use a dent puller and open the tubes back up, braze the small hole shut......pretty cheap short term solution.

sandwedge,

You can always put a note in the 'wanted' section for a set of 997.2 headers. There must be at least one person out there that has removed his stock headers with no intention of going back to stock.

Also, check the for sale sections on the various lists.

Someone posted pictures of their headers on a stock car after he scrapped them. That set of headers had some pretty nasty dents in them.

There's another post here with someone cleaning out their garage of OEM parts. I believe I saw a pic of a set of original headers in there.

I believe those are for a 997.1.

Thanks. They sure look nice.

I thought about that but the dents are pretty substantial so I'm not sure I would be happy with the result. Maybe short term like you said....

I checked the for sale section both on RL and 6-speed. Nothing. A bit surprising since I know there are people out there putting after market headers on their cars. Maybe they save them like I'm saving my stock mufflers for the day I trade or sell.

That would describe mine too. Not flat but looking more like someone took a ball pein hammer to them. The oil pan has scrapes too so I definitely hit something. Kind of sucks since I always thought the front of a lowered car was more vulnerable than the rear.

I too noticed scraped heads on my 997.2 and now I’m looking for replacement headers. Does anyone have a suggestion? New member here.

PM sandwedge about what he did back in 2012. He is still really active on this forum.
