Who ever started the no spare tire trend for cars needs to be slowly and painfully beaten.

Congressmen. They dictated better emission standards, and to achieve them, you have to pare down the weight of the cars. And costs, too.

It leaves you down the creek without a paddle. Or, tremendously resourceful!

It would be great if our local Porsche dealer would put on some kinda road side awareness seminar on one cold evening during the Winter time, it would be great to discuss your options as most don't carry a spare tire.

this was my solution:







It's the 996 turbo collapsible tire. Doesn't take too much room and the wheel is aluminum, so the tire weights nothing... I have the insert with the jack and tools.

yes, it fits front and back but you will need to inflate it while the car is still in the air...

This is true, because Sunday is a holiday and damnit, the state is gonna make sure you stay home and relax with the family and watch some Fussball!

Of course, its also a traffic fine if you run out of gas on the Autobahn. :-)
