Hi,

For the first time, I just started getting this message when I start the car: "service in 1000 miles".

I have 80,500 miles on the car.

Why would i be getting this message?

It's also not time for an oil change as it has been only 2,500 since last change.

I got the same message at about 59K. I never saw it before that. It counted down by a hundred miles until it reached 60K. I took my car to a local independent service center and they re-set it after my dealer refused to do so stating "legal reasons". . I now have 70k on the car. I did do the 60K service but at around 68K. Needless to say, my dealer won't be seeing me anytime soon.
