Default ride comfort difference

I'd like to know which model is a more comfortable on a long trip?
1) c2s on 19" wheels
2) c4 on 19" wheels
3) c4s on 19" wheels

All 997.2 similar options

Thank you,

Comfort...get a sedan not a sports car. However the S cars are pretty soft with PASM in normal mode on new tires.

I bought my C2S in Houston and drove it the 1200 miles back to Phoenix over 2 days.
I dropped the fronts 2 psi and the rears 4 psi, and when I got home, I felt better than I thought I would.
Can't speak to the 4 or 4S for a relative experience, though.

My C4S Cabrio can be bumpy with Sport mode on (but I like it).
Wife prefers Sport mode off :-(
...on 19's.

When I'm taking off-ramps two times faster than the posted speed limit I'm thinking to myself.....damn, this car is comfortable.

My C4S Cab is fun always........never even thought about comfort as that quality has nothing to do with why I bought it!

I understand the reason for buying the car and agree a sports car is not meant for comfort. I was asking a more technical question. How much more comfortable is a C2 compared to a C4S? Is the difference very noticeable? For 3 to 4 hour drive, will the C4S be too harsh?

No the S either 2 or 4S makes zero different in comfort....rear wheel or all wheel drive is moot point for comfort.
If comfort is your top priority you are looking at the wrong car...this is not to say 997's are NOT comfortable they are for a sports car but a M3, Audi, Benz, Lexus, Cadillac is much more comfortable

They all are very comfortable. A firm, well controlled, suspension actually makes a very comfortable moving platform. Less damped, some say cushier, suspensions seem more comfortable but are more fatiguing. Too technical to explain why.

These days it appears that Porsche buyers worry about comfort. PAG knows this and we now have the 991... longer WB, softer car, more insulated, etc. It is sad. A better car for those who crave isolation is a Panamera, or better yet a Lexus.

All the 997 Carreras have a fairly smooth ride and are comfortable enough for long trips. The main problem is the road noise, it can be very unpleasant. The 991 is a lot better in this respect.

Agreed as I find road noise more annoying than the firmness in the suspension. Back to the OP, the base models do not have PASM and may be less compliant than S models on normal dampening. Can't say for sure as I haven't driven them back to back. dave

If this is true, and It sound about right, shouldn't a more relevant question be which seats provide the most comfort? Oh wait, we've been down that road before, nevermind.
