Default When Tree meets Car.. Ouch...

I don't think I ever posted this but 2 years ago, March 13th to be exact we had winds over 90 MPH. Sometime during the night, this 60' blue spruce which was on my front lawn, blew over and landed on my car.. The attached photo's show the results.. I was very lucky. A branch went thru my windshield but that prevented the main trunk of the tree from hitting the car. It missed the glass Targa roof by 3 inches.. There were hundreds of scratches and small dents.. The dent removal guys did an amazing job. You could never tell where the marks/dents were. The only thing re-painted was the front bumber skin. If my car had 9 lives, I have 8 to go..

Wow. You were relatively lucky that trees are soft things--except for the branch that penetrated the glass. I also am very impressed with the paintless dent removal guys. It's a special skill.

These are tough cars!

Yup.. The tree removal guys removed the tree that morning. The cut the trunk in 3 foot sections and were super careful removing them.. Everyone on my block took photo's and figured the car was totaled.. To there surprise, I was driving it the next day and has the glass replaced within 24 hours.. The body shop had the car for almost 2 weeks (while we were out of town on vacation). When I got it back, it looked better than new.. I'm still finding wood chips in places I can't figure.. I was VERY lucky..

Curious, what does your carfax report look like?

Wow its amazing that only the windshield was damaged and not the roof, hood (front trunk) or the window a-pillers.

Also what kind of exhaust tips are those? They look great

You know, I never checked the carfax report but I really don't care.. I have no plans to replace the car. As for the exhaust, I have the complete Fabspeed headers, mufflers and tail pipes w/dual tips. It gives the car the right touch and just the right sound while driving. It is loud under hard driving.. I have full glass coverage so the new factory windshield didn't cost a dime... And believe it or not, my insurance went DOWN 20% the following year.. I've been with GEICO now for 40 years!!

That is rather impressive. The only apparent damage is the windscreen... easy enough to replace. No a-pillar damage? Nice rigid top on those Targas!

You should consider investing in a garage.

So happy it missed the A pillar. That would have changed the entire deal.

It pays to keep a chainsaw handy! Good Karma.
