Hmm, I have a same problem and does anyone fixed?
As Papa Fittig said, it is not the battery nor starter. because the cluster light doesn't come up at all but when the cluster light come up, no problem to start.

Does anyone know where is 'ignition micro switch'?

I had the same problem with my 2006 C2, I replaced the starter when I acquired the car in 2015. Then started the non-start problem when I turned
the key. I noticed that when the car would start without issue, the airbag light would light up when the key was inserted. On the occasions where turning
the key produced no start, no airbag light when key inserted. I just started removing and replacing the key, when airbag light appeared, then turned key and
started every time. Dealer told me the ignition needed replacing.
Instead of replacing that and new clutch and flywheel, I purchased a 2010 Carrera S with 25,000 miles plus warranty. Starting problem fixed!

I had my ignition switch replaced due to same thing. I also replaced the clutch lockout switch under the dash. At times I would remove the key and it kept running. At times I had to juggle the key in the ignition to get it to start. There is a DIY in here for the ignition switch. Suncoast has them for 150 or so?

If I replace Ignition Switch, then do I have to recut a new key?
I have 2 keys and wonder if I still can use them or need to get a set of a new key

Thanks

Sounds like you got a dead battery.

Derek - same issue happened to mine. The technician found it in the PPI but since it was intermittent the seller thought I was just an idiot and didnt know how to start the car so refused to pay for it.

The tech said it was a bad ignition switch and it was a common issue. He said it was a 10 minute fix. I had it replaced at my local Indy shop after I shipped the car to Cali.

Here is the part you need to replace. https://www.suncoastparts.com/product/9X7IGNSWX.html

I think i forgot to add this tidbit in my post on the 33 lessons learned for new 997 owners...

I've had no more problems since I had the ignition switch replaced, by the Maxcare warranty.
