Cobalt Blue cars are generally 997.1 cars--available for model years 05, 06, 07, and 08. When Porsche does a 'facelift" we consider those the .2 models. Often they also change colors, like when the Cobalt Blue changed to Aqua Blue.

The .2 in 2009 came with a new Direct Fuel Injection DFI Motor and did away with the Intermediate Shaft (IMS) issues completely.

I would also add that on top of the DFI engine, the other big jump in the 997.2 was replacing the Tiptronic Transmission to the PDK.

Your right! They did go from an automatic to a faster shifting automatic. Don't forget that Horse Power went up as well. Going from memory the Carrera went from 325 hp to 345 hp and the S went from 355 hp to 385 hp. Not bad....

Yep. All correct above. For me the big changes were the DFI and PDK. I wouldn't be overly concerned about owning a DFI car unless I also happened to really want PDK, however. I love the PDK because I'm getting older and lazier. Seriously - it's just a driver's choice kind of thing to me. I've gotten to the point where I'd rather focus on the handling than the shifting. Plus the PDK gives me the flexibility to lend the car to the wife now and again.
