I have a 2010 Cayman S. I've noticed that on occasion (maybe 20% of the time) the driver's side window doesn't fully close when shutting the door. Easily remedied by using the toggle, but it seems strange and also happens on exit - more annoying. Generally opening and closing the door will fix it as well.
Any ideas on this one?
If it helps:
- 8K miles
- PSE, Sport Button Mod
- Recent battery out service - to install the Sport button mod (Porsche dealer and equipment)
- K40 rl360
I dont have the owners manual in front of me but its something like:
1: Hold window (open) switch until window opens all the way.
2: Hold window (close) switch until window closes all the way.
Do that for both windows with the doors closed
damn, I went to the dealer looking for a Cayman S and went home with a Targa instead lol......
is this reprogramming thing as easy as holding the window button in a particular way or something?
I found it really helpful to download a pdf of the owner's manual.
Storing end position of the windows
If the battery is disconnected and reconnected,
the windows will not be raised automatically when
the door is closed.
1. Close the windows with the rocker switch
once.
2. Press the rocker switch upwards again to store
the end position of the windows in the control
unit.
Well this got more interesting. Today the battery was basically dead. Car wouldn't start, but jumped easily. At dealer for check-over. They can do the window reset, I suppose! My guess is this is the result of the car sitting on a dealer lot for a while and now getting daily driven. Battery was unhappy having to actually do work. We shall see. Will post an update when I learn more.
Caymens are lowly??
I must be too much 'a noob to get that one......
it's a Porsche right? RIGHT??
haha....
live and enjoy!!!!
I was kidding of course! I've owned the full range - Boxster to GT3 to TT and I'll tell ya the Cayman is pretty special. Of all of them I've owned I actually like the 996 GT3 the most (more than the 997 GT3 or TT). But this is close. It's just got a usability that is really nice - except when it won't start at which point it is utterly unusable.
