Default Porsche Centro (Center Steer)

Hello everyone. Some of you may remember me from a few weeks back. Given the obvious skepticism I decided it would be best to have the thread deleted and return when outside sources have posted something in regard to the car. The car made a trip down to Petit Le Mans and will be making rounds at a couple of events in the south throughout the winter. There are two vehicles. The cabriolet is built with the casual driver in mind and the coupe is being prepped as a track car. The ability to mix features also exist. All engineering, fabrication, and carbon work is done in house.

Anyways, I just want to share the car. I'm not here to sell anyone on it or answer the question of "why". That comes down to the individual person.

That shifter sure is set back. It doesn't look too ergonomic.

Is it just me, or does this seem really stupid? Why make a four seater into a three seater? I'm missing something obviously.

I get the sense that it was simply, "because we can".

Maybe it is intended for a person who is besieged by hitchhikers wanting a ride. ("Sorry Dude I only have the one seat.")

I'm disappointed that they removed the rear view mirror. The driver could have used it to check his/her grooming or maybe have a conversation with them self about why they bought that car.

At least it still has the sun visors, but for what purpose?

I'm torn between 'why' and 'to each his own'...

How's the weight distribution change with driver?

The car's definitely real and a quick skim over it revealed no obvious shoddy fabrication (I saw it at Petit). Not something I would do myself, but it's not garbage like a lot of things you could do to one of these cars are. It's well done and a plain-Jane 997 is not all that special or rare in Porsche terms, I see no problem with it.

The driver will need very long arms if he ever goes to the drive-thru at McDonalds.

Will this be the next Lambo Doors craze ?
I can see it now..A do it yourself kit for Hondas and Hyundai (and at least one Porsche) converting to the new center seating position.
