Wait, you bought this from Performance in Chapel Hill, didn't you? I just bought an '07 black/black C2S they had there on Wednesday. I looked at this exact car and was toying with it or the standard coupe.

Congrats! It's a great car at a great price. We'll have to meet up some time.

haha, yes, that was the one sir, I went there inquiring about a Caymen S and ended up making a deal that day and taking it home Friday, I didn't realize how rare these cars are.....but I have been in the manual, on the web and driving the car to learn all I can about it
do you go to the Cars and Coffee in Cary on the first Saturdays?
I have been going since July; taking my cls63......

I haven't been yet. I had been meaning to go when I bought my E90 M3 last April, but never seemed to make it out there. I'll have to start coming now...

What year is your CLS63?

Congrats! You have done really well! You have jumped into a car that usually (and this is my own opinion) that a more experienced Porsche owner would get. The 4S in Guards red is stunning. The 4S has everything a turbo does but the motor. The beautiful rear hips, the brakes. But to get one in a Targa is a really exquisitely rare example. But to get a targa which is really a Porsche thing, and the 4S is something a Porsche guy loves from the old days. And yours is just a beauty!!.

wow, and many thanx for your comment! it's very encouraging to read it!
I have not owned a manual in over 5 years! lol, but it came right back to me.....I'm sure I made the salesman nervous, but I pulled off the test drive pretty well, and have only stalled once haha......
the car itself is a beauty as you mentioned......it has turned many'a heads in the 150 miles I have put on it......
it's a really big change for me too; the one I have been looking for you know?
I have thoroughly been enjoying it, and this is a great forum.....

thanx again!

Yes Rotes, The Targa top goes back 40 years or more to the 911 and now Porshce has just perfected
it to an art. Yea in my experience its a SPECIAL 911 guy that gets a targa. A person who loves the open air of the road that you get with the Cab, but wants that crisp handling you get with the coupe. And the 4 is something Porsche has done for years and has really perfected in a sports car and the S is the great 3.8 motor with lots of power with one of the best gear boxes in the world. So you have quite the intriguing package there from SO many different angles. Its a car that has so much different Porsche history in it that makes it such a head turner. You will be the envy of lots of those cars and coffee guys at your get together. Be ready to talk alot!!!!LOL!!! Congrats again!!
