No kidding. This is so unusual. Ferrari had a problem with fires but not Porsche. I would suspect arson here...

**** happens. I don't feel sorry for him--assuming that he's insured, he gets to go pick out a new Porsche.

Spontaneous combustion on a Porsche is highly irregular. Seen it many times on Ferrari, with Lotus Europa, and the very occasional Lamborghini. Porsches have extremely good fuel delivery systems that provided a technician didn't screw up, should work for over a decade before you have to think about or even service them. But then again, with the economy of the EU in the dumps, even bankers in Luxembourg may be having trouble with their debts!

Break Break....reading elsewhere in the Wort.Lu (state online newspaper) I read about the upcoming marriage of their crown prince this weekend. I had not heard about this at all in the press in America. I guess the Luxembourgers' don't garner international attention for their weddings like the Brits do!

Cause may be non-mechanicaly related - perhaps the work of an angry wife/girlfriend.

I agree jkw911. It's more common than you think for Porsche owners. It's called Uluvthatdamncarmorethanme syndrome. This looks to be an extreme case!

Dan,
I am seeing some coverage of that upcoming event. But I am here in Stuttgart on vacation with my wife. Museum tours tomorrow and factory tour Monday.

Enjoy the Stuttgart area! Ask plenty of questions on the tour!
