My car made the 10 used cars to avoid list?
From MSN auto, what are they talking about, haven't seen this before.
10 USED CARS TO AVOID
2006 Porsche 911
Porsche is a perennial top dog in J.D. Power & Associates quality studies. These race-bred sports cars are known for being almost bulletproof. But not all of them are. The 2006 Porsche 911 appears to be an anomaly, with problematic electrical and engine cooling systems. It's hard to say for sure whether the 2006 model is alone in its deficiencies. Still, 2007 and 2009 models are reliable, as are the Porsche Boxster and Cayman.

Me Too... WhooooootWhooooot!
I think thats based on the faulty alternator cable and the leak prone coolant caps. My car has over 50K and I've had minor issues but nothing I wasn't happy to have fixed to get back in it for a drive.

That list is ridiculous. I've got an '09 C2 AND a '10 Audi Q5. Both brands on the list. Only hiccup on the Audi was the recall on the water pump. Otherwise it's been a tremendous vehicle. Love both my Porsche and Audi.

That article does not correspond with this one - 5 out of 5 for reliability.

Just because your car is on the list doesn't mean that you will have problems, and conversely if your car is not on the list does not necessarily mean that your car will be reliable. Fifty years ago car quality was so horrible that you wanted to avoid any car that appeared on any worse list, but the quality of recent vintage cars is so high that even the worse quality cars in 2006 would be at the top of the 1990 quality list.

I bet it's because of earlier 2006 cars (2005 build) that had old IMS design and failures, hence they specifcially say 2007 and 2009 are reliable!
But, I find it overall poor article based on some consumer reports info.

The 2006 997 S that I sold recently at around 65,000 miles was the most trouble-free car I ever owned.
Other than normal wear and tear stuff, I replaced two side-marker light bulbs.

I saw that. As I recall it was related to motor. I suspect it has to do w reports of ims problems tho why they now point finger at 06 is beyond me. Previous reports were positive. My 06 in 6.5 years and 30+k miles has cost me one o2 sensor. Great car. You could always cancel your subscription
