My wife took her CRX to a Honda dealership in Greencastle PA to have the clutch replaced. When we picked the car up there was another car parked about 6 inches away from the driver's side, which did not seem right. When we got in (through the passenger side) we initially thought that the technicians had totally trashed her seats because they were ripped and filthy. Then we realized that the original seats had been taken out and replaced. The seats were only held down by one bolt rather than the original four. Speakers were also taken. It was clear to us that someone from the dealership took the car and had to park it in the same spot when they returned, hence the car parked so close and the seats partially bolted down.

We called the police and filed a report before we ever left. The dealership's response (this is no joke) - "not responsible for items left in the car". The manager even pointed us to the sign in the service area. We did not think it was funny at the time, but we laugh about it today. It worked out because her insurance company gave her a check for $1,200 and we were able to get decent used seats for $200. This was almost 20 years ago and we still joke about the dealership's response of not being responsible for items left in the vehicle. We thought about going back for some minor service and dropping the car off without the seats, but it wasn't worth the effort.
