Only you can decide if the extra cost to move to a 991 is a good value to you. There are many 991 owners on the site who have owned previous model 911's, including yours. There is no question that your car is a terrific car. For another perspective you might ask this question on the 991RL site. You certainly should drive a 991 as much as you can. There certainly other 997 owners considering the 991. I'm not aware of any 991 owners looking to switch back to the 997, but then the car hasn't been out that long. The only trait that I disliked about my 997.2 C2S cab was cabin noise. Rodsky, in the above post, informs me that I shouldn't be in a 911 to begin with. Twentyfive years of 911 ownership with 8 911's and I shouldn't have one. Wow.

no I aint rich, But I got a new 2013 Mzda CX5 gets 40mpg loaded.
So now the garage looks like this
2013 Mazda SUV 40mpg
2011 X5M and yes Mike with my back its SOoo comfy and faster than a Cayenne Turbo
2009 C2S
I didnt think that it made sense to have the 2 SUVs but the 2nd SUV is for my business.
AND believe me the Numbers dont add up I will just add an aero kit prolly. The Carrera is the
fastest car I have had including my Gt3s and TT!

I second the idea of driving the 991 as much as you can. It's impressive in a whole lot of ways. That said, it's no 997.
Maybe it will appeal to you / suit you. Maybe not. And if I HAD to bet on that outcome, I'd bet not. Sounds like your '09 is set up just the way you like.
The 991 has a different feel, almost in every dimension. Can't say that it 'did it' for me. Again, it's an impressive machine. Very fun. But it is less 'immediate'. And the sense of increased volume, while being constrained by the center console is especially unusual at first. Plus....yeah yeah, this is the really subjective part....the 997 is a lot better looking. More balanced. More refined. I look at a 991 S Cabrio, a 997.2 GT3RS and a 997.1 S Coupe sitting side-by-side in our building every day. No doubt which one is going to get stuck with the 'Miss Congeniality' award.
Anyhow, good luck with it all.

Mumbles thats only half
Mumbles this is my REAL garage
2013 Mazda CX-5
2011 BMW X5 M
2009 C2S 997.2
2006 BMW X5 4.8iS
1995 Dodge pickup AND
1982 928 Weissach Edition.
My kids drive the others the other X5 and the 928
I just dont think its worth making any move. My wife is on this Dave Ramsey Kick and she wants to get out of debt completely. So we only owe a small amount on the X5M and thats it. So we will just pay off the house then I will pay cash for the car. I dont want GIVE away my 565 Hp V8 Twin Turbo. Probably the nicest combination of performance and Luxury I have ever had. And I can just use my Mazda for all my running around.

And your right about trading up for a Turbo, That would be the only real option I have had two GT3s
Best cars on the planet but unless God comes to my house and heals my back completely then the turbo is the only good option. But I got a Freaking COOKING deal on my 911S, and I dont see Porsche really dealing these days (thats why I have a BMW X5M instead of a Cayenne S which is what I wanted (THANK YOU Porsche, talk about a turn of great luck!!!!)) somebody was talking to me about $112K for a USED 2012!

Did you see my smiley face. Hey I've been a staunch supporter of the 991 on this board. And it has got heated. The Gt3 guys think that 997s are too cush. The 997 guys think the 991s are too Cush. I actually think my 997 is too quiet. But everyone picks the one they want and everyone wins. If I didn't have a 997.2 I'd buy a 991. But it ain't worth spending 50k on top of my car to get one. To me of course.

If you just want to spend some money and make a change you could trade both cars for a Granturismo. It has about the same performance as your Carrera and it's a very smooth and comfortable car. The driving experience is pure theatre. It's a lot more fun to drive at regular street speeds than a 911. Don't underestimate the value of that.
