Ok... so the rest of the rest of the story. As the tow driver is hooking up my car, (getting it out of the garage was an interesting proposition with no power, and no way to open the doors), my neighbor comes by and tells me that she saw my parking lights on last night when she came home... but she didn't know it was my car, as she had never seen it before. Sure enough. I look in the window, and the light switch is all the way on. My Mercedes had auto headlights, and it did not even occur to me to check that when I parked last night. Expensive lesson learned. ($150 tow, plus whatever the dealer charges to recharge my battery). Yikes what a dumb ***.

Congrats.

I'm on week 2 of having my first 911. You might want to consider a trickle charger to keep the battery fresh.

I've also left the lights on but while sitting in the car parked. There are few creature comforts missing that you'll adjust to.

Indeed... my Mercedes had a few extra comforts, which, each time I press the loud pedal, mean less and less to me.

I do have a trickle charger, however, this is my DD.

We've all left our lights on in some car or another.

Black on a 911 is a color that you can't go wrong.

Congrats on the car!

Yep...seems like all the German cars without auto on/off believe if you're stupid enough to leave your lights on then you deserve to have a dead battery. Happened to my son leaving the lights on in his little GTI last month.

Great car! I've been helping a friend at the office to get a car and he is getting a 2008 black on black too!

Here is mine:

mine is the one with the flat black hood...

Thanks Tim... Yeah, it is a departure from Gabes Targa, but I'm really happy that things worked out the way they did.
