Leather e-brake cover replacement?
Hi All,
The previous owner of my 997.1 Carrera must have had Nosferatu- like fingernails due to the deep scratches on the black leather e-brake cover. Where can I find an OEM replacement for the cover? The handle is fine, I just need to source the cover.
Thanks!
Pete

Get a recommendation for a high street auto upholstery shop in your area. They can almost certainly restore it to like-new condition in-situ, and if not, could re-leather it. AFAIK there isn't an "OEM replacement for the cover" unless you change out the entire lever.

plug for dallas steering wheel:
I had them do a wheel for my 997.2, turned out sweet. EXCELLENT service.

I think Exclusive Option offers just the cover. Call Frank.

Thanks guys,
Hmmmmm, so it seems the cover is not available as a separate item. I don't have any good leather people near me... Maybe I can send it off to be refurbished. I know it comes off; you just pull off the thumb button and twist the cover free of the e-brake handle.
Oh, just read the post above about Exclusive Options. I'll try there and see what Frank's got. Once I get that sorted, I have to do battle with a dashboard rattle!
Thanks All,
Pete

The part that you pull: twist a little bit and start pushing towards the front. The little button it's just placed there... it either become loose once you start moving the leather part or you can remove it prior.
The curved back part: disassemble the rear console and push/slide towards the back. It will slide out of its channel on the aluminum part of the assembly. This channel is only 2", so you can separate it without having to pull the whole handbrake assembly from the car.
I replaced my whole assembly with a carbon one (front and back) sooo happy!

I had replaced both the e-brake handle and shifter **** on my 987 with pieces from Carbonlution. I was very happy with both the quality and price. I do remember having to use large pliers to break the adhesive loose on the e-brake handle, though.
