(Hi rodsky, hope you're well!)
JCN - good to hear from you! I have OEM BT in my car. I thought that was only for the phone. Does that mean I can stream ipod music through it? why would you need the UAI (i have that too) if that were the case? Cheers

I don't think the OEM bluetooth interface can be used for audio streaming. It only does handsfree phone and phonebook stuff.

So it looks like for the 997.2s with UAI, you save or buy an old high-capacity iPod or as others have suggested, use the ever increasing flash drives in the USB port. That iPod control option on the 997.2 went from hardly usable (since the system doesn't let my iPod go to sleep when its plugged in) to obsolete pretty quick. So the value in that UAI for me appears to be the ability to plug in a USB source. Well at least I'll have some room in the bin for other stuff now! ;-)

I think that came up in another thread and the later cars can. Maybe PCM3.1?

+1. Best option - Bar none.

I also just leave an old ipod in the car. Never take it out except once a month to synch. Pcm 3 works perfectly with the ipod, not sure what the complaints are about. I haven't had any issues.

Yep, I think this is an option with the 991 and newer pcm systems, not the system that came with the .2

I use pandora, navigon, and a few other apps that output audio, so I use the interface for more than just iPod.

I can still use the headphone out, though, so it's not that big of a deal.

Will buy one of those apple adapters and see if I get lucky with the ipod control once I get my IP5. I'm due, and wife needs the hand-me-down. :-)

Grr...

Is that image of the combined audio/lightning connector from the Apple website? I couldn't find that product anywhere. They just list the lightning/dock adaptor and state it doesn't work for audio

Well, I tried the USB to iPhone connection and the car won't detect it. Therefore the USB option is out.
Apparently it's only good for a USB drive/stick.

My wife's '11 Panamera has PCM 3.1 or the latest update to it and she CAN stream BT audio direct to the PCM from her iphone4. My 09 C4S doesn't let me do it..only phone option. Maybe its an update to the PCM software? Will ask my dealer as both cars use the same PCM equipment basically I'd think, no?
