I believe the horn contacts may be different between the two generations, in the cabling, so that may or may not require more than just a new wheel and new airbag.

You cannot use a .1 round airbag in a .2 round wheel, they are different sizes and styles.

I went from a .1 dumb, round wheel, to a .2 heated, multifunction wheel. ( I did already have heated seats).
I spent about $1200 total after purchasing a new .2 round wheel, .2 round airbag, and wheel multifunction face, .2 controller, and .2 clock-spring, and then selling the old .1 wheel, .1 airbag.

When pricing, factor in getting some money back for your old wheel and old airbag.
