Check dismantlers or ebay - there's a company in texas that sells refurb ones for triangle airbags. They look pretty good. I had considered that before deciding to go for broke.

Same here, I ended up buying a cheap hardly used PDK one and removed the paddles.
I got really lucky I guess, the wheel was offered on ebay with a small defect, a lose vibrating right paddle. I guess not a lot of takers for that and it was just what I needed.

So we wound up going with the new controller, download, then install, then upload method. Was it worth all the time, money, and aggravation? Probably not, but it looks good, feels good and it's water under the bridge.

It looks great !! congrats !
You know, you can go from A to B and arrive but you can also go over some of the alphabet before arriving at B, the end result counts and you got what you wanted!

What a difference. I don't like the silver on your old wheel at all. The new wheel just looks right and modern. I also like the white gauges and full leather dash and pcm surround.

My new wheel, very happy with the result:
993S, what wheel is that? Very nice BTW.

Thanks guys. A few hundred nice miles since Fri (Lime Rock Historics today) and the nonsense has faded. Happy driving with it!

Sorry to resurrect the thread.

What's the P/N for the new control module and ballpark cost?

EDIT: This is the module needed. P/N: 997.613.289.01.
