One week off - do I need to trickle charge?

You will probably be ok but I agree with others that there is no reason not to leave it on the maintainer. Unless your parking arrangement makes it difficult, what's the downside to leaving it plugged in?

The light will turn off within a couple of hours. Just FYI to the OP, the remote locking is on standby for 7 days so there is drain on the battery from that source, if not others. More good reasons to use the maintainer....
Load switch-off after 2 hours or 7 days
If the ignition key is removed, loads which are
switched on or are in standby mode (such as the
luggage compartment light, interior light and
radio) are automatically switched off after approx.
2 hours.
If the vehicle is not started or unlocked with the
remote control within 7 days, the remote control
standby function is switched off (to save the
vehicle battery).
1. In this case, unlock the driver’s door with the
key at the door lock.
Leave the door closed in order to prevent the
alarm system from being triggered.
2. Press button 1 on the remote control.
The remote control is now activated again

nah. I travel a lot, usually 10 days or so at a time, never needed one
I might be tempting fate, but if I blow a battery I'm getting a lightweight one for sure

Or you can just pry the trunk light out (small screwdriver under the lens from the bottom) and disconnect the light. Pulls straight off. If you are quick enough after popping the frunk you won't burn your fingers.
I started doing this when I couldn't identify its fuse or decipher any switch that operates the light. Perhaps it's the latch? Two hours burn time annoys me. Since I use alligator clips with the Battery Tender, I leave the frunk open.

I have the more permanent quick connect plug installed on the battery for my CTEK so I also leave the frunk ajar for charging. And like you, the 2 hour burn time for the luggage light annoys me.

Just to wrap this up...
I plugged it in. I figured I'd never used the charger before and it was worth trying it out now, when it's only 7 days, rather than screwing it up for some stupid reason when it's a month or more.
Needless to say, she started right up.
Also, I didn't have any problem with the key resetting. I'd left it unlocked in the garage for the week, so I didn't need the fob to unlock. When I got to my destination, I got out and locked it with the fob with no problem. Maybe the key reboots when it's placed in the ignition...
Anyway, thanks for the opinions.

I plug it in if the car will be idle for a week or so. Besides it makes it less likely my wife will take the GT3 for a joyride if she has to disconnect it (Battery terminal hookup) :-)
But I just got another ctek that has a cigarette lighter plug in connection so she can hook up her Boxster herself.
