Default PSE on 997.1 vs 997.2

I know PSE won't get me the wonderful ticking and whirring noises the 997.1 makes but can it make a 997.2 sound as good as a 997.1 with PSE? I can't really justify buying a 997.1 SOLELY for the wonderful sounds (idle, low revs, screaming high revs). Is there a sound difference with PSE between the base and S?

Thanks!

Go for the 997.2 and get the Gundo hack for $265. Or a new exhaust for $2-3k. 997.2 has really been refined. The only issue is that damn high pressure fuel pump. I think I'd take that over the issues with Intermediate Shaft (IMS) any day.

Thanks Spokane, I was leaning that way but the 997.2s that I drove (base and S) just didn't sound good at all (except when up high in the revs). Can the base version sound good with the Gundo or PSE, or do I need to go for an S? All the sound clips on youtube are for S models.

My buddy has a carrera and his car sounds amazing. So good, that I ordered the Gundo from FD Motorsports yesterday. I think you'd be happy with the Gundo. Keeps everything somewhat stock, easy to do the work yourself and sounds very nice. I had my mufflers ceramic chrome. They bead roll the mufflers untill they're very shinny then ceramic coat them. Keeps the heat off the motor.

Thanks ! Enjoy it once it arrives and maybe even post some in-car videos Any ideas what you will do when you sell? I imagine you have to buy a new exhaust to get back to stock?

I had PSE on my 997.2 C4S and it sounded great when it was engaged and subdued but sporty when the bafles were closed. It also became louder with more use. It's all a matter of preference however.

I went with the Fister mod on the secondary mufflers and Sharkwerks primary muffler bypass.
