Rear size for 18" A/S' for my C2S
Hey folks,
I'm going to experiment with some 18s on my C2S for daily-driving. I currently have 19s (stock OE) with the OE summer tires on them (Bridgestones).
And, I have 18" C3's with winter tires for the winter.
I'm thinking about tossing a set of good a/s tires (no, not N-rated, I know...) on there for daily driving. I'd appreciate some additional sidewall compliance (I have SPASM) and less noise, for starters. And, I actually enjoy driving the car with less grip, not more. I enjoy driving it on the winter tires in in some ways more than the summers. Of course, that wouldn't be true on the track.
So, the actual question re: tire width.
The rear C3 rims are 10" wide, I believe.
Should I run:
265/40-18 (which is my winter width) or
295/35-18 (which would preserve the front/rear widths that came on the car)
What do you guys think? 295 on a 10" rim? Crazy running 265s on the rear of a C2S? It's actually pretty fun in the winter

285/35-18 is also a perfect fit for the 10" rim - with a ~1.5% speedometer error compared to the stock 265's. There are a few "all season" tires in that size if that is really your goal.

Interesting. Looks like 295/35 is slightly taller than my stock setup, and 285/35 is slightly shorter:
