Connecticut, yes, in April. The dealership (Danbury) was great to work with and made the whole process simple. Flew up and drove it home after negotiating through phone/email.

Congrats and beautiful car... I liked your old 993 Targa but welcome to the H2O side of RL. The 997 will serve you well as a DD.

Thanks! Including the drive home from CT, I've already added 5000 miles.

Beautiful combination. I'm glad to see you put the badges back on the rear deck lid, looks great.

Thanks; it just looked like something was missing without them.

Beautiful car! I am a FL guy that also bought a CPO 997S with the aero package in CT a couple of months ago. What a coincidence. As you can see in my avatar, my car is artic silver. I moved up from a 964. There is a BIG difference in the performance of the newer cars. I still miss my old air cooled car though.

As for LED's, I ordered front and rears from Revolution Motorsports. I highly recommend them if you want to avoid the Germany supplier. The fronts arrived today and are already installed . They make a huge difference. The rears are on the way. If you decide to upgrade, let me know. I found some great tutorials that make this a very simple upgrade.

Enjoy your beautiful new car.

Overall I'm really enjoying the newer car, especially the power and handling. The 993 was a bit more "edgy" and raw, which has its own appeal, but the 997 feels more exotic to me. I do really miss the Targa top. I'd thought the sunroof would be enough, but even when fully open the breeze just dumps down onto the top of my head. It's more of a "wind on your hair" versus a "wind in your hair," so I really don't use it (100 degree temps aside...).

The new car definitely turns more heads on the road, though even after 10 years in the same town the Targa still attracted attention too.

No matter how you look at it, we're all blessed to be able to own and drive these machines!

Congratulations, Doug! Beautiful car, and definitely an interesting coincidence!

I'll check out Revolution. Any before/after pics on your car?

Congrats man! Those wheels are perfect on that car... don't be tempted to do black wheels. Red stitching is also a big win. Well done...

The prev owner of this car advertised it on craigs list for a while in NJ... tried to talk to him when I was shopping but he was too arrogant for me to deal with and eventually sent me an email saying car is being traded to a dealer in 3 days, so "its my final chance" ...

glad you didnt need to deal with him
