Good questions. I don't believe it's a rebuild and I don't think he's a member. I have messages out to find more details. I only ever see the owner but once a year.
The original owner of the car bought it new and he spent more time in it, I guess, than at home. Just he and his dog. But once the puppy grew up it was time for a bigger car and he traded it in on a Land Rover. My buddy picked up the C2S and has continued the mileage legacy by putting on many miles since he got it.
I'll post up the details when I find out more.

My friend with the 242k mile car says it's the original engine and transmission with no rebuild on either component. Car was maintained at a Porsche dealer as per the manual and whatever the dealer recommended thereafter. Has the paperwork, too. The idea was no expense spared to maintain it as the original owner knew he was going to put on incredible mileage.
No major issues and it's still hummin' along! In fact, we were on track at Spring Mountain and had an impromptu drag race out of a corner on to a long straight and though my car pulled away on him, it was only slightly. His motor is still strong.
In the pic below, the car was stickered-up for an event at the beginning of the month and doesn't normally run with all the labels.

I'm at 69,760 on my 2010 C4S Cab....... Bought it just over 3 years ago and just came out of CPO in July. No problems, leaks, or issues at all, although my local P Dealer did replace my HPFP and a torn CV boot all under the CPO just before I fell out of coverage

88,118 miles - 2005 997S Launch Edition - 7 years of bliss. Strong enough that my recent test drives of a 997.2 GTS and various 911 Turbos didn't sway me.

Didn't notice how old this thread was. Sorry about that.

2006 C4 Cabriolet.
Coming up on 130,000! Appears to be keeping a fair value (for its mileage).
