DME/OVER-REV SCAN
I learned about DME scan thru the board. Unfortunately, it was after I bought the 911.
I requested a DME scan since the car needs to be looked at due to a rattling sunroof and oil pressure gauge possible malfunction.
The SA stated there was nothing considered out of the ordinary. I wanted the board members to chime in.
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 1 - 405
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 2 - 56
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 3 - 6
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 4 - 0
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 5 - 0
# ignitions at speed > max speed, range 6 - 0
Operating hours at overspeed, range 1 - 697.900 hours
Operating hours at overspeed, range 2 - 597.000 hours
Operating hours at overspeed, range 3 - 510.900 hours
Operating hours at overspeed, range 4 - 0 hours
Operating hours at overspeed, range 5 - 0 hours
Operating hours at overspeed, range 6 - 0 hours

Looks good. General rule of thumb is that Ranges 5 & 6 are a problem (mosy likely money shift from 5th to 2nd), and Range 4 is a bit of gray area - some Porsche dealers will void warranty and some won't... Range 1,2,3 is fine (just bouncing off the rev limiter).
And the numbers indicate number of ignitions rather than a time function...
