I am running them as well. The dealer installed them and didn't have any issues with the lack of "N" rating. At 5K milles they are wearing well

Agree, call Damon if you need some reassurance. I recall a conversation I had w/ him about N-spec for a certain brand (can't recall which). He told me that he had no idea what the difference between the N-spec and non-N-spec tire was (tires looked identical) - and that the factory didn't even tell him how they were different. After a bit of research turns out that that the N-spec was something like 70 grams lighter.

I had four Michelin Sport PS2 N-rated tires on my '06 S (with about 50-60% tread), until I ripped the sidewall of one of rear tires (luckily, about 2 miles from a tire shop). Replaced the blown tire with the non n-rated Michelin equivalent (which was $100 cheaper, and in-stock as opposed to a week away), and from what I can tell, it hasn't made a lick of difference.

At the risk of being flamed, the n-rating is all about sustained speed, so unless you're planning on not just hitting 150+, but staying there for prolonged periods of time, it shouldn't make a difference (unless you're planning on reselling the car soon, in which case it might raise eyebrows).

For what it's worth, but the tire guy, and a mechanic buddy of mine insisted there was no need to wait for the n-rated tire, or for that matter, to replace both rears at the same time.

Oh, and +1 on wheel enhancements and Damon, both great sources.

My indie recommended PS2s N rated. I asked him to look into PSSs. He did his due diligence and concluded the PSSs fit the bill. I have had them for 4,000 miles and they are great.

i have the PSS on my 997.2 GT3, and the one difference you can tell straight away is that this particular tire has a lip on the sidewall that makes the rubber look like it's sticking out beyond the lip of the rim (if you know what i mean). probably good for a street tire, as it may provide some element of protection from curb rash. downside: it sticks out. on the GT3, the rears almost look a bit silly, as the rubber peaks out past the wheel well. not liking this. not sure if it's any different on a carrera.

I had the PSS on my 09 C2S and really liked them. They will last on track but you need to max out the camber on a stock car or better yet modify the suspension to get more camber. When I picked up the GTS I put a set of PSS on it as well. I'm very satisfied with this tire.

MPSS has proven to be great tire... BUT, at a MUCH BETTER price, I'd get Bridgeston S-04 (replacement for RE050), specially if you don't track. It is just as good as MPSS but it is priced fantastic. To me, it's the best bang for the buck Max Performance tire for our cars.

Did you refinish that wheel? It looks polished aluminum rather than painted GT Silver with a machined lip.

Perhaps just the exposure....

Tommy, I have them on my car and they are awesome! I'm not trying to steal Damon's tunder but CostCo had the tires on sale all four for $1,217.87 installed and came with their wonderful warranty which prorates it longer and tire protection. I couldn't beat the price! I had them installed at the CostCo in Ocean Township, the guys were great there and very experienced, they had me come in super early so there would be no issues and had me stay in the work area so I can see what they were doing.

Those are standard Carrera Sport wheels. I haven't done anything to them other than clean them a lot.

BTW, I'd like to thank At Speed Motorsports for mounting those tires without putting a scratch on my wheels.
