I timed this almost perfectly...

For extra difficulty I didn't use cruise control and these are single snapshots not a frames from a video.

I was out by 0.2 miles. This picture was taken when the trip computer ticked over to 555.5 miles but by then it was 5:56. So close but I'm amazed I got it as close as I did.

Boring afternoon? You couldnt work it so you had 55 miles to empty? Lol. That is pretty close though.

BTW. You live in Texas. What's with the Celsius on the temp?

Agree, major Fail on the "miles to empty".

Kind of interesting. You'll never be able to do that one again!

Side note - your oil pressure should be on "5" also at 5500 rpm. With the oil up to temp on my car, the oil pressure gauge pins at 5 at a steady 2800 rpm.

Might be a mileage thing, I only have 14k on mine. Your's has 4x the miles.

Could be the oil. What weight and how old is the oil. My car has fresh Motul 5-40.

Is your car a 3.8 S ?

No matter what combo of motor, oil, mileage, 40 psi Oil Pres @ 5500 rpm seems a bit low.

I'm English so I don't understand Fahrenheit

The oil is mobil 1 0-40. I change it every 5000 miles. I enjoy driving the car, did over 14,000 miles last year.

Yes it's a 3.8S.

5th gear at 5000 rpm and the 610 loop around Houston don't mix very well :-)

Didn't take very long, I had the car sat in garage all week waiting for the weekend. Trying to do 55 mph at around 6pm on a week day is almost impossible to guarantee. Trying to time it right was tricky. I got the mileage up to 55552 from 55537 from whwn it was parked and sat around in a driveway with quick access to the freeway for about 15 mins until just before 5:52. Then spent the next 3 miles trying to drive at 55 mph in 2nd gear as the rev counter is then at about 5500 rpm. It's quite sensitive at that rpm!!

Girlfriend thought it was a complete waste of petrol but she could see how happy it made me especially when I saw the photos after.

Engine Oil Pressure
The oil pressure is controlled as required and should be at least 3.5 bar at an engine speed of 5000 rpm.

The engine oil pressure varies depending on the engine speed, engine load and engine temperature.

He's fine !

I quoted from the 997.2, so the .1 may differ somewhat
