Default .1 vs .2 oil use

i've been seeing this from a few different sources, the .2's are using oil significantly more than .1's , could some owners post up usage so we can see if there is somethin to it? thanks,

I've only put ~6K miles over 15+ months since ownership but have not noticed any oil consumption so far. Note: I change my oil+filter every 3k miles or 6 months whichever comes 1st.

A quart about every 2,500 miles here.

I think this issue has been discussed numerous times, but for what it is worth, I owned two 997.1 C2S and never added any oil between oil changes. On my 2012 GTS, I have added 1 quart in about 4,000 miles. Not a great deal of oil consumption in the GTS, and maybe it will stop now that I have some miles on it, but still, more than either 997.1 cars I owned.

One quart every 4,000 miles is insignificant as far as I am concerned.

I bought my 2009 a couple months ago, and drove it 1200 miles home.
It didn't use any, probably because I had some with me just in case....
Another 1500 miles since then, and I checked it yesterday - still full.

On 997.1, I burn about 1/4 of a quart in-between oil changes of 4-5K miles.

There was a long thread about it like a year ago.

Based on numerous discussions on this forum over the last few years we can't conclude one is better than the other in terms of oil consumption. There is a large variability within each type. Many improve as they are broken in but there does not seem to be a correlation to how they were broken in.
I am still non the wiser on the mechanism why some consume oil but a number of reasons were suggested.

I've never added more than 1/4 to 1/2 quart between oil changes on my '09 997.2S; oil use is a non-issue for this car. This subject was beaten to death in previous threads.....

I don't have hard numbers since I wasn't paying that much attention to it, but my '09 used more than my '06 overall, but my '06 burned more during break-in (if that makes sense).

Oil usage is a non factor in the buying decision process because both use oil, some or sometimes none as reported even in this tiny thread.

.2 over .1 all day, everyday.

Have a 09 C2 and have driven it 4k miles in 6 months. Only went down one bar on the gauge.

I've had my 2009 C2S for 2.5 years and have never needed to add any oil at all between oil changes.
