Anyone ever notice that on the 997.1 optional sport steering wheel a raised line develops on the airbag center hub? It starts at 12:00 goes along the outside of the crest almost in outline shape and ends at 6:00.

Yes, it's a cut-out line which presumably allows for a uniform airbag deployment.

You'll stop noticing it after a while.

Mine went away when the airbag deployed on the 09 C2S.

I've noticed and wondered about that too! I have an 07 c2s for the past 4 months. I find myself staring at the 'vein' and running my finger along it, willing it to go away!!

Why will the 997.2 wheel be any different since the airbag appears to be pretty much in the same location?

latest 997.2 steering wheel is a different design as with the 997.1. The airbags are not the same. If you want to change the look of your steering wheel for the latest one, you will also need to purchase the airbag... the old one won't fit... at all.
