Default Battery replacement, OEM at a discount

While my car was at the shop going through summer preperations, they suggest battery needs replacement (it indeed does)... they suggested the OEM Audi Battery, which is the SAME OEM as Porsche branded one, but at exactly half the price (here in Canada).

I agreed, and it's being put in as we speak.

Wanted to share with others who might need replacement. Same OEM quality at a 50% discount... can't go wrong!

The Audi OEM was just about $150.

What is the warranty on the battery? I thought most dealers only did one year.

Hmm... I am now curious, wouldn't Battery be covered under CPO? I am still under CPO till Aug. 2013.

Battery is specifically mentioned in the CPO warranty paperwork as not covered.

Also, a Die Hard battery "E2 Group 47" is the same spec and size as a stock GT3 RS battery. It uses the last hole in the OEM battery tray. For those who are on a diet

A couple of updates:

- Battery is in, car cranks way better and definitely needed the battery.
- It looks almost identical to the Porsche battery, and fits PERFECT in the same spot
- I got a 2-yr warranty on the battery, no milage restriction
- Porsche CPO does NOT cover battery, and Porsche OEM battery has 2-yr warranty, BUT only if you drive your car 12K Km/year (7.5K miles)

Overall, I think it was a fantastic deal at $160 vs. $320 Porsche price. I highly recommend the Audi OEM battery if you're up for a change.
