The H7 or 94R battery is the direct fit replacement. Do not rely on Sears or any part store catalogue.

My battery died over the weekend, jump started it and drove spiritedly for an hour, did not start today. I go to the Optima website and they don't even have Porsche listed in their search area, they have Lamborghini but no Porsche. Am I missing anything?

Couple years back the Optima 34R was the one. Not sure now. Email Optima with your model info, they'll respond.

Again, you cannot go wrong with Interstate - it's a direct replacement with no mileage issues. But if you want to shave a few ounces....

34R with this adaptor plate works great.

So I opened up the caps on all cells last night and they were all bone dry. Filled up with distilled water, jump started the car this morning and drove to work. It started up just fine, for now.

In checking the Porsche manual, it says the battery needs to checked more frequently in the summer time than winter. We have had very hot days in Southern California, today over 90 degrees.

I have the OEM Porsche battery in the car now. Let's see if it works, if not will get the Interstate one recommended here.

Eric: Dealers usually mount a fairly heavy Interstate. A lighter one which fits nicely is this one:

Interstate (MTP-91). Under $100 mostly everywhere.

Weight: 36.7lb, CCA: 700A.
