I'd love to do this too, since I think the width and overall look of the P O R S C H E is better than the Carrera script. Since my 997 is an 06 however, I'm worried about "ghosting" of the Carrera on the paintwork. I know I could polish and wax it, but will it still be visible from certain angles?

Looks great!

I've never changed the badge on any of my cars. Did you have a template or something to keep all the letters evenly spaced, aligned, and all going in a straight line?

I used a strip of tape that has foam edge (window draft excluder tape) and stuck that to the edge of the lid and rested the letters on it. Very important, place the 'S' dead centre and work outwards from that. Spaced them using a cigar packet and when I thought they looked right, I removed the backing of the 'S' then a cigar pkt length to the left, adhered the 'R' then the 'O' and so on. When they looked right, pressed them home. Same with the '911' badge although the 3 digits come as one, just centred it. Thanks for the compliment!
